The scheduling of appointments is done week-to-week. As much as possible we try to give every client the same chance of getting a convenient time for his or her session, during the day or after hours.

If you are in distress, the therapist will work with you to accommodate changes in appointment times. Call us for assistance.

Time of Arrival

Because White Pine Counselling operates without a receptionist, the doors are kept locked. Should you arrive before your appointment time, there may be no one available to let you into the waiting room. For this reason, we ask that people arrive at the centre as close to their appointment time as possible (maybe 5 minutes before). If you do arrive excessively early, please be patient.

Parking

Our driveway can only accommodate two vehicles. For the sake of your fellow clients, please don’t park in front of cars already there. City bylaws allow you to park on the street as long as it does not interfere with normal traffic flow. It is also better for our neighbours that you park in front of 787 Grandview when there is no space in the driveway, instead of parking in front of other homes.

Missed Appointments

Clients are asked to give their therapist 24 hours’ notice if they wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Generally no penalties apply to missed appointments or cancellations if the client calls in on the same day the session was to have taken place. But the therapist will naturally wonder if the client will be able to achieve their goals because of a pattern of missed appointments.

So when a client repeatedly does not show up for sessions or cancels at the last minute, the therapist will review the situation with the client. If at that time the client wishes to continue therapy, they will contract with the therapist to pay a session holding fee of $30 per appointment. If the session is missed or cancelled, the client will be invoiced for that amount.
